Job Description

The Role

As the Senior Staff Architect for the AI Security team, you will own the architecture that safeguards ServiceNow’s GenAI initiatives. Partnering closely with security researchers, AI specialists, and software engineers, you will turn cutting-edge research into robust, production-ready solutions. You’ll also be the key liaison between AI Security and the wider Product and Infrastructure architecture communities—keeping them informed of our roadmap and ensuring our team is aware of broader company initiatives and how to integrate with them. Reporting directly to the Director of AI Security, you will lead engineering execution while championing secure, scalable design.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build clean, reusable, and scalable systems that secure LLMs, generative AI, and other advanced ML technologies.
• Translate research into reality by collaborating daily with security researchers and AI experts, guiding engineers to implement their vision.
• Interface with Product & Platform Architects to embed securitybydesign into new features and existing workflows, and to align roadmaps in both directions.
• Shape new products and features while continuously improving our existing tool suite.
• Set engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD) and drive technical excellence.
• Mentor and lead engineers, fostering knowledgesharing and professional growth across the team.
  
  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you have:

• 10+ years of industry experience, including expertise and handson software development in Java
• (Bonus) Python
• Proven record architecting largescale, distributed systems in cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Deep knowledge of microservices / serviceoriented architectures and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to own and derisk multiple highimpact projects spanning several teams.
• Comfort using Generative AI tools to boost productivity.
• (Strong Bonus) Experience working with LLMs, MCP, A2A, multi agent systems
• (Bonus) Experience building security or AIsecurity products.
• (Bonus) Exposure to AI systems, data science, or dataengineering pipelines.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and presentation abilities.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
