TALMA, the Israel Program for Excellence in English, was launched in 2014 to transform English language education in Israel. Focused on strengthening English proficiency in under-resourced communities, TALMA promotes advanced education and employment opportunities. Supported by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, The Steinhardt Family Foundation, and Israel's Ministry of Education, the program offers English-immersion for low-income Israeli elementary schoolchildren and a Fellowship for international educators. TALMA Fellows gain professional development and networking opportunities in Israel while contributing to educational equity.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an English Teacher based in Sderot. The English Teacher will design and implement lesson plans, deliver engaging and effective instruction, and assess and improve student outcomes. Responsibilities also include collaborating with fellow educators, participating in professional development sessions, and contributing to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• English Teaching, Teaching, and Education skills
• Experience in Lesson Planning and developing educational materials
• Strong Communication skills
• Commitment to social justice and educational equity
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field
• TEFL/TESOL certification is a plus
