BI Developer

We are seeking a passionate and skilled BI Developer to join our Data & Analytics team and play a key role in shaping the semantic layer within Appsflyer. You’ll work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to translate complex business logic into scalable data models, enabling self-service analytics and actionable insights across the organization.

This is a highly collaborative role focused on defining and implementing the semantic foundation that powers traffic benchmarks, user behavior analysis, and operational dashboards for Customer Success and beyond.

What You’ll Do

Own the end-to-end development of the semantic layer for traffic data, ensuring scalability, consistency, and accuracy.

• Build and maintain data models in DBT or equivalent transformation layers to support analytics and self-service use cases.
• Develop and orchestrate reliable data workflows using Apache Airflow and Python.
• Implement efficient data transformations using Spark for scalable data processing.
• Collaborate with Customer Success (CS) data analysts and business partners to translate business questions into efficient, governed data structures.
• Optimize SQL and data flows for performance and usability across tools like Looker, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
• Define and document standardized business logic, KPIs, and metric definitions within the semantic layer.
• Partner with Data Engineering to ensure semantic data models are aligned with upstream pipelines and architecture.
• Develop data validation, QA, and monitoring processes to maintain high data quality standards.
• Contribute to data modeling best practices and participate in broader data governance initiatives across the company.
  
  

What You Have

2+ years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Modeler, or in a similar role with strong exposure to semantic layer design.

• Proven experience with SQL-based transformation tools (especially dbt).
• Hands-on experience with Spark for distributed data processing.
• Strong programming skills in Python for data transformation and automation.
• Experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating data pipelines.
• Deep understanding of dimensional data modeling, semantic modeling, and business metric standardization.
• Extensive hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD processes for data, and agile development practices.

Experience working in a mobile measurement platform (Attribution & Measurement), ad-tech – big advantage.

• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude etc’).
• Background in developing analytics solutions that support benchmarking or customer-facing insights.
