Lead Systems Engineer

Lead Systems Engineer – Space Mission Management Systems | Yehud, Israel | IAI – Space Division

IAI’s Space Division is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to drive the development of a groundbreaking mission planning and operations system for next-generation satellite constellations.

The position includes:

• Leading and owning the architecture and holistic design of a mission planning and control system for satellites serving diverse applications

• Working across all space and satellite-related projects

• Leading system design reviews (Design Reviews)

• Engaging with advanced image processing and AI algorithms

• Managing multidisciplinary matrix collaboration with software engineers, RF engineers, project managers, system architects, and others

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science – required

• At least 8 years of experience as a lead systems architect for complex, software-intensive systems – required

• Proven leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and confidence presenting to engineering teams and customers – required

• Solid understanding of all phases of the systems development lifecycle – required

• Experience in image processing, optimization algorithms, and AI – strong advantage

• Experience working with cloud environments – advantage

• Ability to define and drive solutions that meet project scope, timeline, and budget

• Strong system-level thinking with attention to detail

• High-level proficiency in English – reading, writing, and speaking
