The Application Security team builds and operates industry-leading solutions to protect applications, APIs, and now AI-driven experiences. Partner with the best

You'll define and lead the vision and strategy for Firewall for AI. Driving cross-functional execution to deliver scalable, customer-informed solutions. Fostering innovation and user-centric execution to position Akamai as a leader in AI security.

As Director Product Management, Firewall for AI, you will be responsible for:

• Defining and owning the vision, positioning, and roadmap for AI-based firewall products.
• Leading product strategy and roadmap development to drive business growth and meet customer needs.
• Supporting business growth through GTM strategy, pricing, and alignment with revenue objectives
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and innovative solutions.
• Engaging with customers, partners, and analysts to gather insights and validate product direction
• Representing Akamai's vision through internal and external thought leadership.
• Establishing and tracking KPIs tied to efficacy, adoption, and business impact, using data to guide priorities.
• Mentoring and growing a high-performing product team while contributing directly to product development.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 12+ years of experience and bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Have deep domain expertise in cybersecurity, abuse prevention, and/or AI/ML-related threat defense.
• Exhibit technical acumen across cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, and modern AI-based architectures.
• Have proven ability to set strategy, manage roadmaps, and collaborate across functions to drive meaningful outcomes.
• Lead with influence, building stakeholder relationships and aligning global execution to shared goals.
• Be able to communicate clearly with technical, executive, and customer audiences; serve as a public-facing product evangelist.
• Have experience scaling a product, team, and technical foundation from early offering to broad enterprise adoption.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $152,600 - $316,800/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
