As an experienced technical leader, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of Search & AI at Redis. You’ll lead and grow our engineering teams responsible for RediSearch and our AI/vector capabilities — the backbone of real-time full-text search, vector similarity, and cutting-edge RAG workflows. This role gives you full ownership of vision and execution, at the heart of Redis’ next-generation data platform — where performance, scale, and innovation converge.

These Teams Sit At The Heart Of Redis' Next-gen Database Platform, Ensuring It Remains The Fastest, Most Reliable, And Most Intelligent Data Engine In The World. You Will

• Lead and grow multiple teams of systems engineers coding in C, C++, and Rust.
• Guide the development of RediSearch — our full-text, secondary index, and vector search module integral to Redis
• Drive enhancements to our Redis for AI capabilities — supporting vector databases, semantic caching, hybrid search, and real-time personalized AI experiences l
• Oversee innovations in RAG, hardware-optimized vector indexing, and semantic cache routing across cloud and edge environments
  
  

What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow a world-class engineering team responsible for the core Redis database and low-level systems components.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural direction in C, C++, Rust, and related systems programming.
• Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and SRE teams to deliver new database features that meet scalability, performance, and reliability goals.
• Drive engineering best practices around code quality, automated testing, and low-level performance profiling.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Partner with recruiting to attract and hire top systems programming talent.
• Act as an advocate for the team and its work within the broader Redis organization.
  
  

Ideal Experience & Skills

• 8+ years of experience as an engineer and/or manager in systems-level or database software development.
• At least 3+ years managing teams building software in C, C++, or Rust.
• Proven background working at a database company or on distributed data systems (e.g., storage engines, caching systems, streaming systems, or similar).
• Deep understanding of systems design topics such as memory management, concurrency, performance optimization, and distributed consistency.
• Experience working in high-scale production environments with demanding SLAs.
• Strong track record of mentoring engineers and growing healthy, high-performing teams.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in distributed and global teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
