Job Description

You’ll be responsible for leading a professional R&D team specializing in mechanics, (with a strong focus on finite element analysis), materials research, and testing.

This role will also include:

• Planning and executing laboratory experiments, from method development stages, through data collection and analysis, to building regulatory submission files
• Building work plans, defining tasks, monitoring execution, and developing the team's work environment
• Building models for analysis and solutions, and designing stents for production for concept development needs, design verification, material property validation, and product protection in submissions
• Responsibility for performing complex mechanical analyses using finite element methods for medical implants
• Real-time risk analysis for development processes

Requirements

• Education: B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering Master's/PhD - significant advantage
• 10+ years of experience in a R&D environment in the medical device industry
• Experience in team management in R&D
• Experience and expertise in computational and experimental mechanics
• Excellent understanding of solid mechanics
• Knowledge in the field of implants - significant advantage
• Experience and proficiency in finite element software ABAQUS - significant advantage
