Research Assistant – Plant Molecular Biology JB-43

An innovative company specializing in plant biotechnology and the development of biotherapeutics is seeking a Research Assistant.

The role involves applied research in a laboratory focusing on genetic engineering, utilizing

variety of advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques.

Work is conducted as part of a research team developing transgenic lines, and performing

phenotypic and molecular characterization of engineered cell cultures.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting experiments in the field of molecular biology
• Molecular characterization (PCR, qPCR, DNA sequencing etc.)
• Construct Designing and cloning
• Plant transformations
• Writing protocols and experimental reports

Requirements:

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Agronomy, or a relevant field - Mandatory
• Proven hands-on experience (minimum 2 years) in a molecular biology laboratory - Mandatory
• Molecular Biology techniques
• Genetic Engineering
• DNA and RNA extraction from different tissues
• PCR, qPCR, cDNA synthesis etc.
• Sample preparation for sequencing
• Plasmid construction for protein expression
• Plant genetic transformation (Agrobacterium-mediated transformation)
• Working with transgenic expression systems in plants and animals - advantage

Skills:

• Basic bioinformatics skills for sequencing and expression data analysis - Advantage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Research-oriented thinking and problem-solving skills
• High precision and attention to detail in laboratory work
• Good technical English skills
