Vessels Applications & Communication Administrator

We are looking for a Vessels Applications & Communication Administrator that will be Focal point for ZIM’s Application in the Ship Management function

and ZIM Vessels.

In charge of support, maintenance and IT Demands for Ship Management functions (Key user).

Responsible for Monitoring and supporting ships Communication systems issues arise.

Responsible for preparing & submitting IMO DCS / EU MRV annual reports for all SMD vessels

(including preparation of MRV plan & direct contact with verifier).

Focal point for Danaos (ZSM) ERP acts as key administrator.

Main Tasks:

Support and Maintenance

• In charge of applications in the Ship management function and vessels: ZSM, SAT systems.
• Focal point for vessels’ computers and applications. Define, characterize, and integrate the vessels’ computers and vendor applications.
• Focal point for the vessels’ satellite communication system (except GMDSS equipment) acts as a link between the vessels & the communication service provider, responsible to the Marine Manager for all communication systems.
• Responsible for preparing & submitting IMO DCS / EU MRV annual reports for all SMD vessels. (including preparation of MRV plan & direct contact with verifier)
• Focal point for Danaos ERP, acts as key administrator responsible for updating & maintaining the system in office and on fleet vessels.

• Academic education: Computer Engineering / Industrial Engineering / bachelor’s degree in a relevant field- A must
• Knowledge in application IT support (including remotely) support, maintenance, and integration
• Technical Certificate in an IT/ related field- Advantage
• Knowledge of Windows applications, server operating systems
• Networking Knowledge - Advantage
• Background in ships mechanic/ Engineering - Advantage
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to work irregular/non-standard hours
