A global biopharmaceutical company in the South is seeking an EHS Specialist

Responsibilities:

1. Operational control in safety, environmental, and energy management systems.
2. Conducting risk assessments and preparing work plans for plant activities.
3. Supporting projects in all EHS aspects.
4. Coordinating training with external providers.
5. Conducting in-house safety and environmental training for plant employees.
6. Supervising on-site work activities.
7. Writing and updating procedures.
8. Managing the safety warehouse inventory.
9. Handling purchasing requests and managing the EHS budget.
10. Regular communication with suppliers.
11. Monitoring maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems and safety equipment.
12. Performing and supporting risk surveys in the plant.
13. Investigating EHS and energy-related incidents.
14. Supporting internal and external audits.
15. Conducting safety walkthroughs in various departments.
16. Advising and supporting employees on EHS matters.
17. Communication with Global EHS at corporate headquarters.
18. Liaising with authorities on EHS and energy-related issues.
19. Planning and executing emergency drills.
20. Managing and maintaining the plant’s emergency equipment.
21. Ensuring readiness of the emergency response team.
22. Managing hazardous waste removal from the plant.
23. Overseeing plant security and monitoring aspects.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Mechanical) or Life Sciences.
2. Certification: Certified Safety Officer (Mumchei Batachut) with a valid license.
3. Experience and Knowledge: Minimum of 5 years in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry preferred; knowledge of safety, environmental, and energy topics.
4. Skills: Full independence, quick decision-making, stress resilience, strong task orientation, ability to work long hours, initiative, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary processes.
5. Languages & Tech: High-level English and strong computer skills.
6. Availability: Must be available (primarily by phone) during off-hours, including weekends.
