About the role:

We’re seeking a senior-level Structural Engineer with strong software development experience to help us build tools that power the next generation of engineering, design, and construction. You’ll be working at the intersection of the built environment and advanced computation, developing AI systems that integrate structural logic, simulation workflows, and data intelligence.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both physical structures and digital systems and is passionate about building robust, intelligent software for real-world engineering challenges.

What You'll Do:

• Translate structural engineering requirements into software logic and services.
• Encode structural load distribution, analysis, and calculation logic into robust software features.
• Design and develop scalable backend systems using Python.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to digitize design workflows.
• Build and integrate APIs, algorithms, and database architectures for structural analysis and data management.
• Work with 3D geometry, BIM tools, or simulation engines as needed.
• Drive backend architecture decisions and best practices for performance, scalability, and reliability.

What You Bring:

• 4+ years of experience in backend development using Python.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering (or a closely related field) required.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with structural load distribution and calculation.
• Strong foundations in computer science: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software design principles.
• Experience designing and implementing complex backend features and services.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams across physical and digital domains.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the MEP discipline.
• Familiarity with AWS and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating structural or simulation software (e.g., Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, Tekla).
• Familiarity with 3D graphics, computational geometry, or OCR tools.
• Exposure to AI/ML, particularly around LLMs, model integration, or graph-based systems.
• Experience contributing to engineering tools or platform development.
