• Cultivates and leverages strategic networks and partnerships
• Pro-actively drive deal flow and execution
• Partners with OpCo (leadership, R&D, BD) in evaluating advocating and championing opportunities
• Leads the venture investment strategy and advocate for investment portfolio
• Negotiates and executes deals with increasing complexity
• Manages overall investment process through partnering with legal, finance, comms
• Represents JJDC on boards
• Advocates for portfolio companies with stakeholders
• Lead JJDC and J&J internal initiatives
• Strong track record in a range of leadership roles
• Leads and navigates through complex deal opportunities
• Establishes credibility with stakeholders and builds the JJDC brand externally and internally
• Influences or persuades others often beyond area of immediate responsibility, scope and level to accept new ideas, practices and approaches that challenge the status quo.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific or Business field required
• Advanced Scientific Degree or MBA preferred
• 10 years of healthcare experience including 5+ years R&D/BD/VC, Analyst, Private Equity, Banking, venture-backed start-up, or C Level founder
• experience with medical devices OR pharma is required. An advanced degree counts towards 2 years of experience with a total of 12 years.
• Proven experience in conducting diligence, and operationalizing, investing, and transacting in healthcare companies is required
• A demonstrated track record in conducting corporate transactions and/or debt and equity structuring activities such as M&A, licensing agreements, joint ventures, etc., is preferred
• Board experience preferred
