Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Software Engineering Director to spearhead our technology initiatives. In this role, you will lead a talented team of developers and architects in building scalable, high-performance software solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the technological strategy, promoting best practices, and delivering features that significantly enhance our product suite.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary R&D team in designing, building, and deploying software solutions.
• Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for our core platforms.
• Ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure applications.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to align development efforts with business objectives.
• Champion agile practices, DevOps culture, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Conduct code reviews, architecture assessments, and performance optimizations.
• Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of full-stack development experience with consumer-facing products.
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
• In-depth experience with microservices architecture, DDD, and event-driven systems.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming and scalable system design.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining mission-critical applications.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in C# .NET and Python
• Deep experience with AWS services: API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, CloudFormation, CloudFront
• Strong command of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS
• Experience with DynamoDB, OpenSearch
• Skilled in React or other SPA frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with Bitbucket DevOps, AWS DevOps tools
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverles Framework
• Understanding of AI/ML frameworks and technologies: OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, Autonomous Agents, ReAct patterns

Preferred Skills

• Experience in e-learning or ed-tech platforms
• Knowledge of CMS platforms like Umbraco
• Familiarity with testing automation and performance monitoring tools
