The Role

We’re looking for a Senior IT Engineer to build and run our internal IT function from the ground up. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage everything from daily support to systems setup, security, and compliance — helping the company grow with a strong, reliable IT foundation. As our first dedicated IT hire, you’ll take the lead on everything related to IT — from setting up laptops and helping teammates with tech issues, to building systems, improving security, and getting us ready for audits. This is a full-time, on-site position embedded in the DevOps team. You’ll take ownership of internal IT while working alongside DevOps, Security, and Operations to strengthen our infrastructure and processes.

What You’ll Do

• IT Support & Administration – Handle day-to-day IT needs, including device setup, user support, and account management across Mac and Windows environments.
• Systems & Tools – Manage core platforms like Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Select and implement tools that improve how we work.
• Security & Compliance – Lead IT security practices, enforce access controls, and help prepare for compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Automation & Process Improvement – Use scripting and automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency across IT operations.
• Collaboration – Work closely with DevOps, Security, and Operations to align on infrastructure and drive long-term improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in managing IT in a mixed environment (Mac and Windows).
• Well experienced in managing and working with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other SaaS tools, with a solid understanding of best practices.
• Familiar with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
• Strong understanding of IT security concepts, device management, and access control.
• Clear communicator who can support users and solve problems independently.
• Organized and proactive — you know how to identify what’s needed and make it happen.

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience in IT administration or systems engineering.
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance efforts.
• Interest in growing into DevOps or infrastructure roles over time.
