A startup is Hiring: Founding Software Engineer – Scalable Systems We're looking for a senior software engineer to lead the development of a complex, large-scale backend system.

This is a hands-on founding role with end-to-end ownership over architecture, infrastructure, and core services. You'll be responsible for building the technical foundation of a high-growth product and shaping engineering practices from day one.

Responsibilities:

Design and build a scalable, resilient, and secure backend system from the ground up Integrate with external APIs and internal services to support product and business operations

Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency

Define architecture, tools, and engineering standards as the team grows Implement robust monitoring, logging, and deployment pipelines

Requirements:

4+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems (startup or early-stage experience is a plus)

Strong experience with backend languages such as Node.js, TypeScript, or Python

Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), CI/CD workflows, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Postgres, Redis) and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka)

Strong system design skills, with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and fault tolerance

Self-motivated and comfortable making foundational architectural decisions independently
