Senior Algorithm Scientist & Team Lead

A world-leading high-tech company specializing in diagnostic ophthalmology devices is seeking a candidate to lead the development of cutting-edge algorithms.

The company has been active for nearly 30 years, with approximately 200 employees in Israel and 700 worldwide.

The company is based in Jerusalem, with a hybrid work model (two days a week from home). In Israel, the company collaborates with Clalit Health Services, while most clients are located overseas.

The Role:

• Full responsibility for the design, development, and optimization of advanced image processing and deep learning algorithms for ophthalmic diagnostic devices
• Leading the development of innovative and production-grade algorithmic solutions
• Managing and mentoring a global team of four engineers located in the US, Italy, and Israel
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into medical devices
• Driving research-to-product transitions while maintaining high accuracy and performance standards
• Working in a hybrid model, based in Jerusalem (two days a week from home)

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
• Over 10 years of experience in industry or academia in algorithm development for image processing, image analysis, deep learning, and related applications
• Expertise in C++ programming and familiarity with libraries such as IPP and OpenCV
• Proficiency in developing multi-threaded applications
• Extensive experience in machine learning algorithms and techniques
• In-depth knowledge of medical image analysis, particularly in ophthalmology
• Strong background in algorithm optimization, high-performance computing, and statistical analysis
• Familiarity with software development processes for medical devices
• Proven leadership experience, including managing and mentoring a team of engineers
