Release Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to lead and manage one of the most critical branches at Check Point.

This is a maternity leave replacement position.

This role is pivotal in enabling fast, frequent, and reliable integrations across our R&D organization, contributing to a unified, stable branch.

As part of a major organizational transition toward Agile methodologies, this position is key in enabling frequent integration and continuous delivery. You’ll lead the effort to accelerate development cycles, streamline collaboration across teams, and raise the bar on product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage a key R&D development branch
• Define, enforce, and monitor entry/exit criteria for code merges
• Ensure high branch stability by validating merge quality and addressing issues promptly
• Maintain alignment between the development branch and the main integration branch
• Track and manage incoming merges (features, bug fixes, epics) across multiple teams
• Collaborate with QA and Automation teams to ensure full test coverage and early detection of issues
• Monitor daily automated and manual test results to maintain a green pipeline
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively
• Act as the focal point for R&D teams regarding merge windows, conflicts, and overall branch status
• Provide regular updates on branch health, including risks, blockers, and key metrics
• Ensure all merged content is properly documented in JIRA
• Maintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and fixes
• Continuously improve workflows to support quality and velocity

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience as technical Release management in SW industry
• Experience in matrix management of multidisciplinary teams including RND, QA, Management
• excellent understanding of Code Development work and QA work
• Technical abilities and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Independent and Self-directed
• Seeing the whole picture while being able to dig into details.
• Working in agile environment – advantage
• Experience in JIRA
• Deep understanding of development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to coordinate across multiple R&D teams
