As Head of Data Platform, you will establish and lead Silverfort’s Data Platform group within the R&D, shaping the long-term data strategy that powers decision-making, product development, and ML innovation across the company. Reporting directly to the VP of R&D, you will own the vision and execution of a modern, scalable, and secure data platform. This is a hands-on leadership roleand you’ll play a key role in building the foundations of our data ecosystem, writing code, making architectural decisions, and growing a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build & own the end-to-end data platform – data warehouses, lakes, streaming systems, orchestration pipelines
• Take an active hands-on role in the design and development of the platform, especially in the early stages
• Set the foundations and build Silverfort’s Data Platform group from scratch – including hiring, mentoring, and setting engineering and operational standards
• Define and drive a multi-year roadmap for platform scalability, cost optimization, and reliability
• Define and monitor metrics and KPIs to measure the health, performance, and impact of our data systems, continuously optimizing for scalability, reliability, and efficiency
• Implement governance, security, and compliance practices – access control, lineage, auditing (GDPR/SOC2)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams to enable data-driven decisions and innovation
  
  

• 8+ years in data engineering/platform engineering, with 3+ years in leadership or management roles
• Hands-on experience building and scaling modern data platforms - Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, one or more
• Proven experience hiring, mentoring, and managing engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming vs batch, data modeling, distributed systems
• Experience with orchestration and transformation tools (Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Flink, etc.)
• Proven ability to build, mentor, and scale engineering teams
• Excellent communicator - able to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders, set vision, drive alignment
• Domain experience in high-scale environments - e.g., SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity
