THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and help build, operate, and scale the infrastructure that powers Unit. You’ll work with precision and care, bringing deep technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a strong sense of ownership.

This high-impact role requires close collaboration with engineers across the organization and focuses on improving security, scalability, cost-effectiveness, developer velocity, and operational excellence. Unit operates in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment where long-term thinking and clear communication are essential. You’ll help shape how infrastructure is designed and maintained, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and enables us to move quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of infrastructure initiatives, from planning and rollout to monitoring and continuous improvement. Contribute to infrastructure strategy and help shape the DevOps roadmap.
• Build and maintain AWS cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code practices. Continuously monitor and improve cost-effectiveness.
• Operate and monitor business-critical Kubernetes clusters, ensuring performance, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineers across the company to guide, support, and unblock product progress.
• Maintain and evolve Unit’s observability stack to ensure the availability and reliability of logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and visualizations.
• Enable fast and consistent delivery through stable and highly available self-hosted CI/CD pipelines.
• Embed security, compliance, and risk-awareness into all infrastructure work to support Unit’s highly regulated environment.
  
  

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer, with a track record of operating and supporting large-scale, production-grade applications and infrastructure.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS. Deep understanding of networking aspects is an advantage. Notable cost-optimization experience is also a plus.
• Strong proficiency and experience with Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure security concepts and best practices.
• Familiarity with at least one major Infrastructure as Code framework. Terraform is a plus.
• Experience with observability solutions. Familiarity with the Grafana Labs observability stack (Prometheus, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, and Grafana) is a plus.
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Argo CD is an advantage. Experience with self-hosted GitHub Actions runners is also a plus.
