Director of Engineering

MARS Antennas is currently looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering team and set the technology agenda. He will manage various projects while collaborating with our Sales department. This position works alongside the other department heads to ensure that we make the best products possible.

 As Director of Engineering, you will

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Sales, General Managers, and executive members to define and build a data-informed technology strategy and roadmaps.
• Advise GM and priorities regarding design and direction of new developments.
• Ensure the engineering team is scheduled and working efficiently while utilizing company equipment and harnessing the rest of the departments, such as sales and QA.

The ideal candidate demonstrates personnel leadership skills, proven technical competence, and the ability to collaborate with others to achieve business objectives.

 Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver the best antenna product to fit the customer need
• Conduct presentations to military and commercial engineering team (including PDR, CDR, etc.)
• Review SOWs and special requests from clients, evaluate, and raise issues or concerns.
• Provide estimated cost of new designs
• Support an organizational effort toward better understanding customer needs and pain points, and develop plans that further this goal
• Attract and retain new engineering talent
• Manage the product portfolio
• Champion technical discussion with the client technical staff

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience as an engineer and/ team leader of engineers 
• Proven success in leading mechanical and electrical engineering teams in rapid product development
• Basic understatement of the antennas and RF world 
• Passionate about the telecommunication market
• Knowledge of Microsoft (excel, word, outlook, MS projects)  
• Must be fluent in English and Hebrew
• Have a strong builder mentality, and know how to effectively "bring people along"
• Demonstrated success in building a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability
• Strong strategic business knowledge, change management, and continuous improvement champion
• Understatement of concept from the plastic, electronics, and metal industries that relate to the production of antenna product

Pluses

• Experience in a military/government company or similar (IAI, Elbit, Rafael, etc.)
• Experience with simulation programs such as CST, CAD, etc. 
• A team player
• Experience with 
• Fluent in Russian
