About Apex Bio

Apex Bio is an early-stage biotech startup dedicated to developing innovative therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, with a primary focus on Alzheimer’s disease. Building on 20 years of pioneering research and a granted patent, our approach targets the extracellular deposition of senile plaques produced from Amyloid β protein (Aβ) oligomers, enabling early theranostics and intervention for Alzheimer’s disease. We are preparing to launch our first clinical trials and are seeking a visionary CTO to join our founding team.

The Opportunity

This is a unique entrepreneurial leadership role for a hands-on CTO passionate about translating breakthrough science into clinical impact. As an integral member of the founding team, you will shape the company’s technology and clinical strategy, drive fundraising efforts, and help build a transformative biotech company from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Trial Design & Execution:
• Lead the design, planning, and execution of clinical trials for Alzheimer’s therapies.
• Oversee all aspects of trial management, including protocol development, regulatory submissions, site selection, CRO/vendor management, and data analysis.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Support the CEO and board with technical and strategic input.
• Work closely with the CSO to ensure seamless integration between pre-clinical and clinical programs.
• Provide oversight of ongoing pre-clinical research conducted at partnering universities.
• Strategic & Operational Leadership:
• Develop and implement the company’s technology roadmap.
• Build and lead a high-performing technical team as the company grows.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and ethical standards in Israel and internationally.
• Fundraising Leadership:
• Actively participate in fundraising activities, including grant applications, investor pitches, and due diligence processes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in life sciences, biotechnology, medicine, or related field.
• Proven experience in designing and managing clinical trials (preferably in neurodegenerative diseases or CNS).
• Track record in biotech/pharma startups or entrepreneurial environments.
• Strong understanding of translational research, regulatory processes, and clinical operations.
• Experience in fundraising (grants, venture capital, or public funding) is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, high motivation, and commitment to building a world-class biotech company.
• Based in Israel or willing to relocate.
