Application Engineer

About this Position We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Application Engineer to support a high-profile global key account in the telecom and datacom sector. In this role, you will act as a critical interface between our engineering teams and the customer, ensuring seamless integration of our solutions into their systems and driving long-term strategic value.

The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to understanding customer requirements, identifying emerging needs, and translating them into innovative technical solutions. You will play a pivotal role in initiating and developing new business opportunities, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and product development to deliver tailored solutions that align with the customer’s roadmap and market trends.

What You´ll Do

• You coordinate technical projects and follow up on the progress of the projects from design to execution. Coordinating activities and exchange with other sites and departments in Henkel or with 3rd parties, like manufacturers and suppliers is part of the job. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying customer needs and initiating new business opportunities
• You are responsible for product recommendations, customized products applications, new product demonstrations and troubleshooting for customers
• You will prepare and execute technical visits such as meetings, audits, demonstrations of new products at customer sites.
• You will give input to product development and customer projects, create project plans, and support the team in achieving project goals within specified timeframes.
• You will coordinate laboratory work for samples coming from customers with following reporting of technical results.
• You will contribute to the strategic cluster strategy by providing inputs on new trends and challenges at customers.
• You are responsible for the delivery of technical training to customers.
• You will directly communicate with Sales, Marketing, PD, Innovation, Application Engineering or other project team members.
• You will maintain reporting on the opportunities in the global CRM system.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or chemical/mechanical/Electronics Engineering is a must, master's degree is a plus.
• Preferably 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Relevant professional expertise in electronic assembly materials, applications and production processes for Telecom Datacom applications is desired. Experience in material application processes is a benefit.
• Experience with account mapping is beneficial, including ability to develop a network at the customer to define the right stakeholders to work with.
• Experience in project management, working with internal departments globally, delivering technical training, and developing technical concepts
• Great team player with hands-on mentality, who can deal with flexible working hours.
• Digital affinity, initiative, willingness to change and innovate.
• Problem solving, agility, creative thinking and good communication skills are required.
• Able to speak and write fluently in English, Hebrew language proficiency is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally globally to NA or APAC (up to 10-20%)
• Work location is the Henkel Israel site in Netanya.
