Your Role And Responsibilities

The IBM Research Lab in Israel is seeking exceptional students to join our dynamic team to work on cutting-edge research in Data and AI, contributing to state-of-the-art innovation in the field. Our team focuses on developing core technologies for generative AI data processing and retrieval pipelines. This includes:

Ingesting diverse data types—from structured formats (e.g., JSON) to unstructured documents like PDFs.
Building advanced retrieval capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic workflows.
Leveraging large language models (LLMs) and code generation to deliver high-quality, high-performance solutions.

In This Position You Will

Develop code for GenAI solutions (primarily in Python)
Conduct benchmarking and evaluation
Gain hands-on experience with leading AI frameworks, platforms and tools
Work in a global company gaining team and collaboration practices

This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge and practical skills in generative AI and data platforms. We expect ~20 hours/week during the academic year and prefer full-time during school breaks

We’re looking for fast learners with strong programming skills and a passion for applying them to data processing and AI. Experience with LLMs and generative AI is a plus.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Computer Science or equivalent BSc student (minimum 3 semesters of studies) or MSc students
Hands-on coding experience, strong Python programming and problem-solving skills
