We are looking for a curious and innovative Applied R&D Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team, solving complex challenges in electrochemical and fluid systems.
You’ll play a key role in developing new concepts, not just testing existing ones. Your work will span from building physical models to designing experiments that reveal system behavior and performance limits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments to study multiphase flow, heat/mass transfer, and electrochemical behavior in complex systems.
- Develop physical models to predict system performance, failure modes, and optimization opportunities.
- Integrate experimental data with modeling to extract quantitative insights and validate theoretical predictions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into hardware and process innovations.
- MSc or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- Solid foundation in fluid dynamics, heat/mass transport, and physical modeling
- Experience designing and executing lab-scale and system scale experiments.
- Demonstrated ability to approach problems with first-principles thinking and conceptual innovation
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB, or Python-based frameworks)
- Experience with electrolyzers, gas-liquid systems, or hydrogen/oxygen-based systems- advantage
