🚀 About the role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to take on the responsibility of end-to-end development for our innovative life-saving platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing Carbyne’s life-saving products. Your contributions will extend beyond coding, directly impacting the future of 911 emergency communications and enhancing public safety as we know it today.

🎯 Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop an emergency 911 eco-system
• Design, develop, and maintain highly resilient services with fault-tolerant and self-healing functionalities
• Build modern, complex Web Apps and UI components.
• Develop our solution across global regions to provide any person in the world the ability to contact emergency services as quickly and effectively as possible
• Enable Carbyne’s business growth by opening up the system to business partners
• Support emergency services in handling high call volumes during major incidents
• Explore opportunities to apply AI technologies to 911 emergency communications

🔑 What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
• At least 3 years of experience in Backend Development (Experience in Scala is a plus, but we welcome expertise in any backend technology)
• Proven expertise in cloud services (AWS, Azure,GCP), focusing on backend services like databases, compute services, and API management.
• Strong background in designing and implementing microservices-based solutions for cloud environments
• Experience with NoSQL (like AWS DynamoDB) and SQL databases and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with scalable systems, distributed architectures, and managing real production workloads.
• Strong English communication skills
• A proactive "can-do" approach and exceptional interpersonal abilities

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with modern Web Development practices
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge or experience with VoIP technologies (e.g., SIP, RTP, Kamailio, Freeswitch)
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Experience with WebSockets
• Experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
