Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology

KulaOmics is a subsidiary of Pheno.ai based in Rehovot, specializing in high-throughput multi-omics and microbiome analysis. By combining cutting-edge automation with large-scale data, we accelerate discoveries in human health and personalized medicine.

We are looking for a Senior Molecular Biology Scientist to join our fast-paced, automation-driven service laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced biologist to take part in scaling and optimizing molecular biology workflows that support hundreds of samples each week.

Key Responsibilities

-- Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated liquid handling systems for high-throughput workflows.

-- Execute molecular biology protocols for microbiome profiling, RNA sequencing, and targeted proteomics.

-- Record all procedures and metadata in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

-- Implement and optimize new molecular protocols, especially for automation compatibility.

-- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in sample processing and Illumina-based sequencing workflows.

-- Work closely with the lab team to meet throughput, quality, and turnaround goals.

-- Maintain rigorous standards for lab cleanliness, safety, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

-- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or M.Sc. with extensive industry experience.

-- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with automated liquid handling platforms.

-- Deep expertise in Illumina workflows, including library preparation and sequencing.

-- Familiarity with LIMS systems and sample tracking protocols.

-- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of molecular biology, sequencing, and data integrity.

-- Proven ability to adapt protocols from scientific literature to fit automation or scale requirements.

Preferred Skills

-- Experience with high-throughput NGS sample prep pipelines.

-- Prior work in service-oriented or clinical-grade laboratory settings.

-- Familiarity with workflows in microbiome, transcriptomics, or proteomics.

-- Experience with Olink or similar targeted proteomic platforms.
