Automation Infrastructure R&D Group Manager

We are looking for a Group Manager to join the Product Operations area in Check Point R&D

This opportunity is for great managers who see the value in developing provisioning tools and automation framework which will be used on massive day to day scale in order to improve the quality of Check Point products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of internal provisioning tools and automation software framework:
• Large scale environment control – creation, monitoring and optimizing usage of on-prem and public cloud resources.
• Developing internal automation framework that is used by R&D – to simplify the test writing process.
• Lead a group of ~20 full time engineers and students in 3 different teams.
• Help the organization to constantly improve the quality of its products.
• Lead the execution and engineering culture for your teams (with the goal of also affecting the organization around you).
• Recruit & retain engineers and team leaders, and help them become excellent.
• Be part of the area leadership forum, working with other groups across Check Point.
• Lead AI implementation in the group (development process, product design and tools), and push members to become AI experts.

Qualifications

• People management: 2+ years as R&D group manager (2nd line manager or above, 10+ employees) OR Check Point top performing team leader with a 5+ years of experience.
• Proven background in innovation and development of similar products.
• Background in development in C/C++/Java/C#/HTML/CSS.
• Experience with virtualization products infrastructure and configurations.
• TCP/IP, networking architecture knowledge.
• Background in Cloud based technologies – a plus.
• Know what “great engineering culture” looks like.
• Entrepreneur at heart with great interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with an engaging leadership style, solid influencing and facilitation skills, and excellent ability to quickly develop relationships across the organization while building a collaborative work environment.
