Role: Defensive Researcher (Full-time Hybrid – Tel Aviv-Yafo)

As a Defensive Researcher at Appdome, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating mobile security threats. You will conduct deep, low-level research into iOS and Android operating systems, reverse engineer devices to uncover vulnerabilities, and collaborate closely with development teams to enhance app security. Your work will directly contribute to protecting millions of users worldwide and advancing the state of mobile app defense.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct detailed low-level research on Android and iOS platforms, including kernel and OS internals.
• Perform reverse engineering on a wide variety of iOS/Android devices to gain deep insights into system operations and potential attack vectors.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging mobile security threats and research methodologies to ensure our customers remain protected.
• Collaborate with a talented security team, contributing to continuous learning and innovation.
• Write technical summaries, white papers, and blog posts based on your research and findings.
• Develop and implement security protocols, perform vulnerability assessments, and work closely with development teams to strengthen app security.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in reverse engineering large systems or operating systems (experience with IDA preferred).
• At least 2 years of programming experience in C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of OS internals, low-level programming, or kernel development.
• Proven experience in identifying and mitigating security threats and conducting security assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Experience with mobile app security specifically for Android and iOS platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in vulnerability research.
• Familiarity with assembly language and ARM instruction set.
• Background in mobile app development.
• Low-level experience with iOS or Android operating systems.
