VP R&D

A multidisciplinary defense company developing advanced Security solutions with direct impact on national security. This is a well-established organization with a longstanding reputation and close collaboration with governmental and defense entities.

The company employs several hundred people, with the defense R&D division operating with a high level of autonomy and currently comprising around 70 engineers.

The position includes full leadership both managerial and technological of the defense R&D division and direct management of approximately 70 employees.

The company is located in central Israel, near a train line, and offers a hybrid work model.

Responsibility-

• Full leadership of the defense R&D division, managing approximately 70 engineers
• Technological and managerial ownership of diverse teams: Backend, Frontend, QA, and DevOps
• Designing complex system architectures and leading end-to-end development processes
• Defining the technological roadmap while maintaining hands-on involvement
• Working with key technologies: .NET, C#, Microservices, TFS, GIT, CI/CD, Angular/React, Distributed Systems, Private Cloud
• Close collaboration with System, Deployment, and Product departments
• Managing cross-team tasks, timelines, and budget
• Representing the division in front of clients, government entities, and executive leadership
• Responsibility for the successful delivery of critical projects
• Field visits to testing sites and deep understanding of operational defense products

Requirements-

• 7 years of experience as an R&D Manager
• Proven experience managing 30+ employees, including management of managers
• 10 years of hands-on software development experience, with a strong focus on C# and .NET (including recent hands-on involvement)
• Experience working with Microservices and Distributed Systems architectures
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field
• Background in the defense industry – a must
