Director of Urban Renewal

The company is seeking the next driving force behind urban renewal –
*Director of Urban Renewal* for a senior strategic role at a leading development firm, shaping the urban landscape of Israel through planning, business, and public engagement.

*Role Overview:*
This key position involves overseeing the company’s entire urban renewal activity, including deal sourcing, advancing plans with authorities, managing contracts, statutory processes, and building partnerships with residents, regulators, and stakeholders.

*Key Responsibilities:*
- Lead and manage the company’s urban renewal division
- Source and initiate new urban renewal projects (evacuation-reconstruction and TAMA 38)
- Oversee statutory and planning processes across all project stages
- Negotiate and manage agreements with tenants, partners, and consultants
- Develop internal policy and strategy for the urban renewal sector
- Maintain strong working relationships with government offices, municipalities, legal teams, architects, and developers
- Participate in planning committees, professional conferences, and public events

*Requirements:*
- Minimum 5 years in a senior urban renewal leadership role – *mandatory*
- Background in a development company/project management/urban renewal consultancy – *mandatory*
- Proven track record leading large-scale urban renewal/evacuation-reconstruction projects – *mandatory*
- Relevant academic background: Architecture, Law, Real Estate Appraisal, or Engineering – *mandatory*
- Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
- Deep knowledge of regulatory and statutory planning processes
- Experience working directly with residents and managing complex stakeholder environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team leadership capabilities
