Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team in a leading defense technology company. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development, with a strong background in real-time programming, low-level hardware interaction, and safety-critical applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain real-time embedded software for advanced defense systems
• Implement low-level drivers, communication protocols, and hardware abstraction layers
• Participate in system architecture and design reviews
• Work closely with hardware, system, and integration teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and software validation in lab and field environments
• Ensure compliance with coding standards and system requirements, including safety and security standards (e.g., MISRA, DO-178, ISO 26262 if relevant)
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation

Requirements:

• B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development in C/C++
• Proven experience with RTOS (e.g., VxWorks, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar)
• Strong understanding of real-time constraints, performance optimization, and hardware/software integration
• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, DSPs, or ARM-based architectures
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
• Fluent in English (reading/writing/speaking); Hebrew an advantage
