Product Development Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Product Development Specialist to lead the formulation and innovation of products within our functional and beverage product lines. This role combines scientific expertise, creativity, and market awareness to develop unique, high-performing formulations aligned with industry trends and client demands. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and work cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative formulations tailored to the functional food, wellness, and beverage sectors.
• Create stable, scalable, and compliant product prototypes using a wide range of active compounds, botanical extracts, terpenes, and other bioactives.
• Identify and evaluate novel molecules for incorporation into formulations, with a focus on efficacy, sensory performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Stay current with scientific literature, market trends, and ingredient technologies relevant to functional and beverage products.
• Collaborate with the Sales and Business Development teams to understand client goals and translate them into technical product solutions.
• Provide technical support and recommendations on formulation design, flavor profile selection, and product performance.
• Present complex scientific concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
• Work closely with R&D to test new molecules and delivery systems and integrate client and market feedback into formulation strategies.
• Coordinate with Production and QA to ensure feasibility, scale-up readiness, and quality consistency of final products.
• Ensure all developed formulations meet regulatory, sensory, and safety standards for their respective markets.
• Participate in the preparation of technical documentation and specifications as needed.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of proven experience in Formulation or Product development, preferably in functional food, nutraceuticals, or beverage industries.
• Previous experience working in a flavor or aroma-based company – strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a chemistry or product development lab – required or preferred depending on your needs.
• Strong sensory evaluation skills and understanding of flavor and aroma chemistry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (such as Priority) – preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• English – fluent.
