Backend Developer – AI Security Infrastructure

Location: Hybrid / Remote | Type: Full-time | Reports to: CTO

About the Role

We’re looking for a mission-driven Backend Developer to join AIdome™—an AI security startup redefining how enterprises govern and secure AI usage at scale. In this role, you’ll work closely with the CTO and Product teams to build core backend infrastructure, implement secure integration layers with major AI providers, and contribute to a system trusted by leading enterprises in finance, defense, and critical infrastructure.

You will play a key role in building AIdome's reverse-proxy-based control layer, ensuring safe and compliant AI use. Success in this role means shipping secure, scalable features fast—and collaborating closely across a high-trust, high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python (Django) backend services with a focus on auth flows, org & role models, and token-based session/invite logic.
• Implement and maintain security-first code patterns, including RBAC, rate-limiting, encryption key management, and secure logging.
• Build and maintain integration layers for AI prompt APIs (OpenAI, Azure AI, Google, Anthropic, and local LLMs via LangChain/HuggingFace).
• Co-own our database schema design, migrations, performance tuning, and multitenancy implementation.
• Collaborate with the CTO and Product team to plan and ship production-ready releases.
• Write and maintain comprehensive test suites (Pytest) and ensure CI pipelines pass before merge.
• Follow Git best practices (feature branching, PR reviews) and semantic versioning across all backend components.
• Manage API integrity and licensing logic using async patterns and validation checks.

RequirementsLanguages & Frameworks

• 2+ years experience in Python (Django)
• Strong SQL skills, with hands-on PostgreSQL experience

AI Integrations & APIs

• Experience integrating with at least one: OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Google AI, Anthropic, HuggingFace

Containers & DevOps

• Proficient in Docker (writing Dockerfiles)
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• (Optional) Experience with Kubernetes manifests

Security & Infrastructure

• Knowledge of RBAC, OWASP principles, secure session/token flows
• Rate-limiting and user-level policy enforcement
• Key management experience using at least one: Azure Key Vault, AWS KMS, or HashiCorp Vault

Tooling & CI/CD

• CI setup using GitHub Actions / GitLab-CI / Jenkins / CircleCI
• Logging frameworks with output to Loki, ELK, or CloudWatch
• Testing with Pytest and API workflows with Postman

Version Control

• Git fluency including PR workflows and semantic versioning

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Multitenancy frameworks (e.g. django-tenant-schemas)
• Event systems: Kafka or AWS SQS
• Observability: Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack
• IaC: Terraform or Pulumi
• Marketplace packaging: AWS AMI, Azure VM Image, Packer
• Security scanning tools: Trivy, Bandit, Dependabot

Qualifications

• Strong attention to security, scalability, and code integrity
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously with cross-functional teams
• Passion for AI, developer platforms, and privacy-preserving tech
• Fluent in English (Hebrew is a plus, but not required)
