Backup and Storage Expert

We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Administrator specializing in Backup and Storage management to join our Servers team. This role involves full responsibility for our Storage and Data Protection environments, along with management of the server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Dell Storage systems, Data Domain storage, and Networker backup solutions.
• Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup jobs across platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, VMware, and Linux servers.
• Analyze backup software performance and monitor scheduled backups to ensure successful execution; take corrective actions as needed.
• Manage and support storage systems, including vulnerability remediation, capacity management, configuration, provisioning, and zoning of new servers using SAN switches.
• Execute regular Disaster Recovery (DR) tests for backup data restoration and storage replication availability.
• Monitor storage usage and performance; conduct capacity planning and report growth projections to management.
• Ensure service levels meet defined requirements.
• Perform system activities such as patching and upgrades, primarily during off-peak hours.
• Operate effectively within established guidelines, policies, and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Possess knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems is advantageous.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Storage and Backup systems.
• Expertise in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR), including data recovery/restoration and replication monitoring/configuration.
• SAN switch administration and configuration experience with Brocade or Cisco switches.
• Solid knowledge of VMware environments.
• Familiarity with security controls related to backup and storage environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with a sense of urgency.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
