Deriva.ai is building the first AI-powered platform that helps clinical geneticists classify genetic variants with the intuition of an experienced scientist. By fusing fine tuned large language models, multi-agent orchestration, and rich biomedical data, we cut analysis time from days to minutes—giving patients faster answers and clinicians deeper insight.

About you

You are a hands-on AI Full-Stack Engineer who loves turning cutting-edge research into production software. You own end-to-end features—from the React UI clinicians use, through NestJS APIs, down to Python micro-services powering our multi-agent, LLM-driven pipelines. You thrive on finding structure in chaos, shipping fast, and watching your code improve real lives—and, for fun, you unwind by reading API docs like they’re bedtime stories.

Responsibilities

• Design & scale backend services that orchestrate variant annotation, scoring, and ACMG classification via multi-agent workflows
• Build React & NestJS features that surface AI insights with zero-friction UX
• Develop data pipelines to fetch, normalize, and version public genomic datasets (ClinVar, gnomAD, PubMed, …)
• Collaborate with ML engineers to fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy LLM-powered agents (chain-of-thought, LangGraph, RAG)
• Create internal “vibe-coding” strategies (Cursor, Cline, WindSurf, etc.) to keep the company blazing fast
• Champion code quality and compliance—tests, observability, audit trails, and privacy controls suitable for clinical use

Qualifications

• 4 + years of professional software development, with strong proficiency in Python, NestJS, and React
• Hands-on experience shipping production AI or data-intensive services
• Practical knowledge of LLM frameworks (LangChain, agents) and prompt engineering
• Comfort working across the stack—APIs, databases, front end, and basic DevOps
• Experience operating Apache Airflow (or similar orchestration platforms)
• Self-taught mindset, curiosity to learn fast, and passion for impact in medicine

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with graph databases
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and Kafka
