Assistant Controller position

Sweetwood Ventures is an Israel-focused venture capital fund of funds. Based in Tel Aviv, Sweetwood Ventures invests through a diversified strategy which includes primary and secondary allocations to Israel's best performing venture capital funds and direct co-investments in leading Israeli startups.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Controller at Sweetwood Ventures located in Tel Aviv. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller and the Head of Finance with various functions, including: fund accounting for all vehicles; production of quarterly and annual capital accounts and LP reports; monitoring on-going financial obligations and liquidity needs; performance of all vehicles’ AML/KYC obligations and reporting; reporting to tax authorities and regulatory bodies in several jurisdictions; and assistance in managing the operational aspects of our investments, including financial reporting, performance tracking and data collection.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience of at least 2 years at a big 4 accounting firm servicing the venture capital or private equity industry or at least one year work experience at a finance department of a venture capital or private equity firm, an advantage.
• High level of English – written and spoken.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and conduct detailed analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Interest in venture capital, startups, and emerging technologies.
