About Us:

We are a niche Jewish publication dedicated to producing high-quality, beautifully designed Jewish prayer materials — including books, booklets, and pamphlets — that inspire and guide parishioners in prayer. Our WordPress e-commerce website, www.onthederekh.com, is built using Elementor and WooCommerce. It serves as both an educational hub and our primary online marketplace. We also operate a related publishing services business that supports self-publishing authors through typesetting, editing, and design.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a freelance Web Designer to support and evolve our digital presence. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the UI/UX, design consistency, and functionality of our primary website and developing a new, secondary website to support our publishing services division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. On The Derekh Website (WordPress + Elementor + WooCommerce)

• Maintain and update website UI/UX, theme, and structure
• Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Maintain and improve WooCommerce functionality for product sales
• Optimize site performance and SEO best practices
• Optimize integration with third-party platforms (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, CRM tools)
• Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues
• Manage security, backups, and plugin updates

2. New Publishing Services Website (WordPress + Elementor)

• Design and launch a new branded site for our publishing services business
• Develop clear and engaging service pages with educational content
• Build portfolios/samples of past work to showcase client success stories
• Ensure clean, professional, and user-focused design

3. (Optional/Preferred) Digital Marketing and Brand Management

• Assist with branding, ad design, and promotional materials
• Develop and maintain a basic social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
• Collaborate, design, and execute on email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp, etc.)
• Manage or support Amazon storefront and explore additional marketplaces

Qualifications (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THE FIRST QUALIFICATION BELOW):

• Proven experience building and maintaining WordPress websites (Elementor a must)
• Proficiency in WooCommerce and e-commerce functionality
• Strong grasp of modern UI/UX principles and responsive design
• Understanding of CRM tools, web integrations, and basic SEO
• Experience with Amazon Seller Central or other online marketplaces (preferred)
• Strong visual design sensibility; graphic design experience a plus
• Marketing or communications background is a bonus
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
