Shape the Future of Akamai AI Security

You will investigate emerging attack techniques and trends in AI security, design robust detection mechanisms, and develop machine learning models. The work is highly product-oriented, with direct impact on the features and protections delivered to the world's largest enterprises.

As a Senior Data Scientist, You Will

• Designing and fine-tuning classifiers to detect prompt injection, data leakage, hallucinations, and other unsafe or LLM behaviours.
• Collaborating with researchers and engineers to turn insights into detection systems and safety metrics for production use.
• Shaping our ML ecosystem - define tooling, data pipelines, and best practices while establishing the team's end-to-end machine-learning workflows.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, including model development, evaluation, and deployment at scale.
• Bring practical expertise with large language models (LLMs) - including training, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and evaluation techniques.
• Be skilled with crafting high-quality datasets - collect, clean, label, enhance, and synthesize large datasets to maximize model performance while meeting privacy and compliance requirements.
• Be experienced with ML production pipelines - including model versioning, continuous training, deployment workflows, and ongoing monitoring.
• Bring background knowledge in information security, particularly in the evolving space of GenAI security.
