HEAD OF TREASURY - Banking (relocate to UK )

Main purpose of the role

• To manage the day-to-day operation of the dealing room to a high standard in accordance with best practice, within limits, policies and strategy agreed with Head Office, the General Manager and the Treasury Committee and within legal and regulatory requirements, maximising profitability but limiting risk;

Business functions

Take responsibility for the following regulatory business functions, in accordance with the Branch’s Management Responsibilities Map:

• Retail sales,
• Trading for clients,
• Customer service (shared),
• Customer complaints handling (shared).

Principle objectives of the role

• To manage the risks of the Treasury;
• To ensure liquidity is kept within Head Office limits;
• To generate revenues for the Bank as per agreed margins with the General Manager;
• To fund the Branch’s monetary requirements, by utilising financial tools, whilst adhering to guidelines laid down;
• To advise the General Manager when changes in operating procedures are necessary or advisable;
• To ensure the department’s procedure manuals are current and are reviewed at the required level.

Management

• To guide and supervise the dealers, ensuring they operate within approved limits and allocates/ recommends dealers’ limits within approved overall exposure limits.
• To appraise and develop the dealers and the setting of appropriate objectives;
• To advise Treasury Committee on policy and products after due research;
• The participation in the management of the Branch including membership of the Management & Treasury Committee and such other committees as may be required.

Business development

• To market the services of the Branch/Bank to new and provide product support to other areas of the Branch.
• To pursue investment strategy within the Bank’s parameters.

Day to day operations

• To execute all financial market services provided to our clients and for our own account whilst working within limits laid down;
• To ensure all deals and transactions are executed professionally and in accordance with FCA and Bank regulations and best practice;
• To ensure all credit exposure to counterparties are within approved limits
• To monitor and evaluate market trends, domestic and international events, evaluating their impact on the market;
• To manage the Branch’s “mismatch” position minimising interest rate exposure whilst adhering to limits laid down.
• To deal directly with those customers requiring the attention of the Head of Treasury/ Head of Personal Banking.
