We are looking for a hands-on and strategic Team Leader to head our Data Science & Machine Learning team. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll guide a growing team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers tackling some of the most complex and unique challenges in retail analytics — from recommendation engines and time series forecasting to signal processing, clustering, and beyond.

You'll be responsible for shaping the team’s roadmap, championing innovation, and translating business challenges into scalable, production-grade ML solutions, powered by Nexite’s rich and continuous IoT data streams.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a talented team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and technical excellence.
• Drive ML Strategy: Define and own the team’s roadmap, aligning it with company goals and product direction.
• Deliver Impact: Guide the team through the full ML lifecycle — from business understanding and data exploration to model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Establish Best Practices: Implement and advocate for high standards in experimentation, model management, reproducibility, and delivery.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders to define priorities, understand requirements, and deliver actionable, measurable outcomes.
• Research & Innovate: Stay on top of the latest advancements in ML and apply state-of-the-art techniques to drive product innovation and value.
• Translate Complexity: Communicate sophisticated ML concepts clearly to a wide range of audiences — from executives to engineers to customers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, delivering real-world impact in a business environment
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading ML/Data Science teams
• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Proven ability to drive end-to-end ML projects from ideation to production
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL and modern data science toolkits
• Deep knowledge of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, and quantitative analysis
• Experience with model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management in production systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — capable of influencing across technical and business domains
