Head of Research And Development

A profitable and product-focused tech company (~50 employees) is looking for a Head of Development to lead its engineering team and drive the development of multiple platforms used by thousands of businesses.

This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, with significant impact on the company’s technology roadmap and product evolution. The role includes full ownership of all development efforts – from infrastructure to UX – and managing a small, agile team of full-stack developers.

Location: Central Israel | Hybrid model

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of full-stack developers
• Own the architecture and technical strategy across multiple platforms
• Balance hands-on coding (~30%) with team and project leadership
• Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership teams to align development with business needs
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and system reliability

Technical Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on backend or full-stack development – must
• Strong experience in PHP – must
• Familiarity with CodeIgniter – strong advantage
• Proficient in SQL / MySQL – must
• Experience with scalable web architectures – advantage
• Background in fintech or product-heavy environments – advantage
