We're seeking an experienced Python developer to enhance and extend a sophisticated data analysis platform. This is a remote freelance opportunity for an Israel-based developer looking for an exciting 4-month project working with cutting-edge AI technologies.

About the Project

You'll be working on a FastAPI-based platform that processes and analyzes large volumes of web-based content using advanced AI models. The system features complex async workflows, multi-platform data integration, intelligent caching, and real-time monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and optimize robust REST APIs using FastAPI and Python async/await patterns
• AI Integration: Work extensively with LLM APIs (Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI) and cloud vision services for content analysis and processing
• Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain sophisticated data extraction, normalization, and analysis pipelines
• External API Integration: Integrate with and manage multiple third-party APIs and web services for data acquisition
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage containerized applications in Azure cloud environments using Docker
• Performance Optimization: Implement caching strategies, quota management, and performance monitoring systems
• System Architecture: Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, maintainable backend services

Required Technical Skills

- 5+ years of professional Python backend development experience

- Expert-level FastAPI knowledge - async/await patterns, Pydantic models, dependency injection

- Advanced Docker experience - multi-stage builds, security hardening, production deployments

- Cloud platforms experience (Azure strongly preferred) - containerized deployments, managed services

- AI/ML API integration experience - working with LLM APIs, vision APIs, handling large-scale AI workloads

- Advanced async programming - complex concurrent workflows, error handling, resource management

- RESTful API design - designing scalable, well-documented APIs for complex use cases

- Database experience - MongoDB, data modeling, query optimization

- Production deployment experience - monitoring, logging, error tracking (Sentry), security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Azure AI services (Computer Vision, OpenAI Service)

- Knowledge of browser automation tools (Playwright, Puppeteer) for data acquisition

- Data processing pipeline experience - ETL workflows, batch processing, real-time processing

- Understanding of enterprise security practices - API authentication, data privacy, secure coding

- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Sentry, Datadog)

- English proficiency for documentation and communication
