Purchasing Buyer

Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders from initiation to completion, ensuring timely supplier confirmations, and maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The Buyer will monitor order fulfillment, manage relationships with suppliers, handle returns and invoices, and coordinate closely with the finance team. The position also involves working with customs brokers, tracking market trends, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining procurement data and price lists. Collaboration with multiple departments and sourcing new suppliers both locally and internationally are key aspects of the role.

Responsibilities:

Track open purchase orders and business requirements

Negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs, processes, and contract terms

Monitor shipments through to warehouse delivery

Process invoices and coordinate payments

Manage relationships with both local and international suppliers

Interface with customs brokers for import procedures

Conduct supplier evaluations to ensure performance standards

Collaborate regularly with internal teams and external partners

Requirements:

Relevant academic degree – required

Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role within a manufacturing environment – required

High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel – required

Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management

Experience working with ERP systems

Excellent service orientation and ability to work under pressure

Strong problem-solving skills, assertiveness, and strategic thinking
