Data Science Vice President

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the overall data strategy, aligned with business objectives for a leading retail company.
• Oversee data collection, storage, management, and analysis across various retail touchpoints (e.g., online, in-store, supply chain).
• Foster a data-driven culture, promoting analytics for business decisions to enhance customer understanding, optimize operations, and drive sales.
• Collaborate with leadership to leverage data for innovation and efficiency in areas such as merchandising, marketing, pricing, and inventory management.
• Develop and implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
• Monitor emerging data technologies to ensure the company stays at the forefront.
• Provide mentorship to data analysts, scientists, and technical teams.
• Manage budgets and resources for data initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in data management and analytics.
• 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading data-driven initiatives in a retail or similar consumer-facing environment.
• Strong understanding of data management frameworks, analytics tools, and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, BI tools, cloud data platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex data concepts.
