Director of Development

Jerusalem Non-profit seeking a Director of Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create, develop, and implement an annual campaign with quantifiable goals, strategies, and measurable outcomes.
• Plan and organize annual fundraising activities, including a Jerusalem marathon or similar program, year-end giving day effort, and new outreach events such as parlor meetings, “friend-raisers,” face-to-face solicitations, and other programs aimed at expanding outreach.
• Responsible for researching, identifying, and submitting proposals to foundations and government grants.
• Develop and implement strategies to significantly expand and build a pipeline of major donors. Cultivate, steward, and solicit prospective donors through face-to-face solicitations. An average of two meetings per week with donors/prospects is expected.
• Work alongside leadership to market the region and create an environment that boosts visibility and fosters a culture of giving.
• Collaborate on building a local board to assist in all aspects of growth and outreach.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years work experience in a significant development role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing an annual campaign strategy.
• Proven experience in cultivating and soliciting five-figure donors.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Ability to work well within a team structure.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
• The ability to understand and speak Hebrew is essential.
• Knowledge of the Israel community is essential, and understanding of the inner workings of government grants is helpful.
• Salary commensurate with experience.
