Senior Java Backend Developer

One of our clients, a young and rapidly growing startup, is seeking to hire a Senior Backend Developer to join its expanding R&D team in Israel. The company develops an advanced system for user permissions and access control management, serving large-scale enterprise clients globally. Following rapid growth in its customer base, including strategic partnerships with industry giants, and the successful closing of an $11M funding round led by Viola Ventures, the company is now scaling its core product and architecture for cloud deployment.

This is a pivotal time to join: the engineering team is growing rapidly, and most of the development efforts are focused on building new features and expanding product capabilities for a multi-tenant SaaS environment. With a strong presence in the U.S. and a local development team in Israel, the company offers a dynamic and collaborative environment centered on innovation and technological excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust backend solutions using Java and Go
• Play a major role in building a scalable multi-tenant cloud platform
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, and fellow Backend Developers
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales and evolves
• Drive system performance optimization using KPIs
• Remain fully hands-on while mentoring team members in best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of backend development experience, mainly in Java / GO
• Strong software design and infrastructure skills
• 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot
• 3+ years with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
• Deep experience with Microservices, Containers/Docker, and Kubernetes (5+ years)
• Skilled in working within Unix/Linux environments
• Proven experience with cloud-based systems, especially multi-tenancy on AWS or GCP
• Advantage: Background in authentication/authorization systems or cybersecurity
