Information Technology System Engineer

The Library at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is looking for a skilled IT Systems Engineer to lead and implement advanced technology solutions that enhance user experience and support library operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage IT projects and work plans
• Develop digital tools, write code, and deliver tech-based services
• Design and manage infrastructure: networks, virtualization, storage, backups, cybersecurity
• Maintain and support hardware/software systems and library classrooms
• Provide technical support and training to staff and users
• Maintain and update the library’s website
• Oversee procurement and track IT equipment
• Support the broader technical services team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems (Engineering/Natural Sciences – an advantage)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience managing and implementing IT projects
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux systems – an advantage
• Programming experience in Python, Java, HTML, CSS, PHP – an advantage
• Experience in user support and technical troubleshooting – an advantage
• Experience with database management (DBA) – an advantage
