GenAI Team Lead

A global cybersecurity company protecting over 120 airports and thousands of critical sites across 26 countries has recently established an advanced AI-focused R&D center in Israel.

The Israeli site is dedicated to developing an innovative GenAI system, leveraging LLMs, Big Data, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) to support hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.

The company employs over 22,000 people globally, and the new R&D site located in central Israel near a train line currently includes five engineers and operates in a hybrid model (two remote workdays per week).

Role Overview:

The position offers a unique opportunity to join as the first engineering team lead in Israel, reporting directly to the global CTO. The role includes leading the end-to-end development of a GenAI-based cloud product, with a strategic impact on product direction and architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first R&D leadership role at the Israeli site, with responsibility for building and scaling a local engineering team.
• Lead the design and development of a GenAI system from the ground up, including planning architecture and system integration in the cloud.
• Oversee full product lifecycle—from early-stage prototyping to production deployment—while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Collaborate closely with global Product, Data, and Machine Learning teams.
• Own development efforts across the stack, with a focus on Backend development.
• Contribute 60–70% hands-on coding in the initial phase, transitioning gradually into a full management role.
• Lead the implementation of complex GenAI components such as document indexing, vector search, agent orchestration, LLM integration, and cloud-based services.
• Tech Stack:
• Node.js, Python, TypeScript, React, AWS/Azure, GenAI, LLMs, RAG pipelines, Vector Databases, CI/CD, Docker.

Requirements:

• At least one previous role as a Team Lead in software development (minimum two years) – required
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Backend or Full Stack development – required
• Hands-on development experience with Node.js / TypeScript / Python – required
• Proven experience working with cloud environments (AWS or Azure) – required
• Practical experience with GenAI / LLMs / RAG pipelines – required
• High proficiency in English, with the ability to work independently and communicate directly with the CTO – required
