Environmental Permits Specialist

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Environmental Permits Specialist is in charge to support environmental compliance and permitting processes for infrastructure, industrial, and development projects in the Haifa-Nazareth region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Israeli environmental regulations, permitting procedures, and environmental impact assessments (EIAs).

• Prepare, submit, and track environmental permit applications in accordance with Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, including MoEP, local municipalities, and planning committees.
• Ensure timely renewals and updates of existing permits.
  
  

• Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws and permit conditions.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to assess environmental performance.
• Maintain documentation and records for audits and regulatory reviews.
  
  

• Support or lead the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and other required studies.
• Coordinate with consultants and technical experts to gather data and prepare reports.
  
  

• Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders regarding environmental requirements.
• Participate in public hearings or consultations when required.
  
  

• Prepare environmental reports, compliance summaries, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Track and report on environmental KPIs and permit milestones.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  
  

• Solid understanding of railway infrastructure
  
  

• Minimum 5 years experience of environmental permits, and regulatory compliance in railway or linear infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with Israeli environmental laws
• Experience with EIAs and working with government agencies.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, or under tight deadlines during convoy operations.
• Fluency in Hebrew and English both written and spoken.
• Valid driving license preferred.
