Lead Unreal Developer (Equity-Based) — Core Technical Role

Digital Combat Academy (DCA) is developing a next-generation tactical simulator for training military and security forces.

We’re looking for a senior Unreal Engine developer to take full ownership of the product’s development and help shape the future of combat training.

This is a unique opportunity to join as a lead developer, with full technical ownership of a high-impact product, and the potential to grow into a CTO role.

• Lead the end-to-end development of our core simulation product
• Hands-on development using Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprints & C++)
• Manage a small-to-medium internal dev team (plus outsourcing)
• Build a high-performance, real-time FPS multiplayer system
• Plan and execute a scalable, modular technical architecture
• Optimize performance and visual quality across platforms
• Implement analytics and data tracking systems
• Integrate and develop AI-based tools
• Collaborate with the founders and cross-functional team (Product, UX, QA)
• Take full ownership of technical decisions and scalability, and play a key role in shaping the product roadmap.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and C++
• Proven track record building 3D simulations, games, or interactive systems
• Experience designing and building products from the ground up
• Strong skills in system architecture and performance optimization
• Past experience as a tech lead or solo developer delivering full-cycle products
• Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
• Startup-ready mindset: autonomy, agility, and product-oriented thinking

• Familiarity with military systems or tactical training simulators
• Experience integrating AI tools for behavior, automation, or analytics
• Real-world combat or military experience
